5 top jobs in human resources guaranteed to pay big bucks
5 top jobs in human resources guaranteed to pay big bucks Jobs at the top in the HR department often require masterââ¬â¢s degrees, years of experience, and more specialized knowledge ââ¬â but they also come with higher salaries. If youââ¬â¢re in the human resources field (or are looking to enter it and climb the ranks), possess strong interpersonal skills, and want to set your sights higher, cultivating another area of expertise within the field may help. Here are 5 jobs to aspire to on your career journey.Human Resources ManagerOf course, one of the top jobs has to be the top spot in a human resources department. This requires years of experience and most often an MBA, as well as interpersonal skills and the talent and experience to be a manager. The human resources manager oversees the hiring process of new employees from recruitment to interviews to offers; they also are involved with strategic planning and connect upper management to employees. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the top-grossing industry for Hu man Resources Managers is Monetary Authorities and Banking Industries, with an annual mean salary of $182,800. The annual median salary for the position is $110,120.Compensation and Benefits ManagerAlso in a key managerial role, the compensation and benefits manager oversees your salary- and comes with its own nice salary too. Oftentimes this role is about reducing costs while ensuring employees receive appropriate benefits, so this type of manager evaluates new strategies like ââ¬Å"pay-for-performance.â⬠Hiring trends for this type of position look good, as organizations will always need this job type to assess benefits policies and design compensation packages. On the other hand, some duties of this role may increasingly be outsourced to human resources consulting firms. Even so, it is likely to remain a competitive job in the field. The annual median pay for this job is $119,120, according to BLS.hbspt.cta.load(2785852, '9e52c197-5b5b-45e6-af34-d56403f973c5', {});Executive RecruiterPeople in this position, also known as ââ¬Å"head hunters,â⬠are responsible for finding top talent and matching talent to organizational needs. The recruiter is the prime ââ¬Å"people personâ⬠position in HR, and the executive recruiter fills the top positions for a company- like the CEO. This role requires the expertise to network and find the top talent for the very top of a company. Itââ¬â¢s hard to pin down a median salary for this job- it often gets paid on retainer because it is so lucrative.Human Resources SpecialistAccording to the BLS, the annual median pay for this job is $60,350. However this figure can be deceptive because ââ¬Å"human resources specialistâ⬠is such a broad category. Letââ¬â¢s look at two types of specialists that are likely to be paid higher and be in high demand.HR Analytics SpecialistBy developing and implementing HR analytics, these specialists perform statistical analysis of data and create and communicate reports, identifying trends to improve the overall hiring process. In this role, you help identify areas of strength and weakness to help keep a company competitive. This position generally requires a background in statistics, but the outlook for this job depends on the changing technology for this area of specialization. Anyone with a statistical background in HR should also keep up with changing tech trends, as data analytic tools may soon become the domain of machine learning and AI- but so long as we need a person to communicate the data, this role will likely still be a vital part of HR strategy.HR IT SpecialistThis position will be in high demand as HR departments adapt to changing technology. For those in human resources who are extremely tech-savvy and also have a background in IT, this can be a lucrative and in-demand role. Expertise in the latest software will be vital. Tech can already aid recruitment, candidate engagement, targeted marketing, and management of job campaigns- expe rts in this position will help HR departments stay competitive and make them vital to an organization.HR StrategistWhile the HR manager might be the big fish in a small pond, the HR strategist is in a much bigger pond. Itââ¬â¢s tough to nail down a median salary for this position, as it varies from industry to industry, but itââ¬â¢s high up in the chain. This position is usually involved in very large organizations or government positions, where strategic planning for hiring requires a strategy team rather than an individual HR manager or top-level executive. The HR strategist is a problem-solver, a planner, and a communicator who coordinates people across departments and all levels of an organization, helping to design and implement long-term HR strategic plans.

the process that would be followed in the event that criminal charges were to be filled for the described criminal behavior. The one type of health care professional I select for this assignment is ââ¬Å"Physicians.â⬠I included a web link for the research portion.à Link to the Medical Board of Californiambc.ca.gov/Index.htmThis web links covers complaint process, disciplinary actions and more. The Business and Professional Codes in the State of California are given under Section 800 to 809.9.à All Professional boards, including the Medical Board of California maintain a register of the names and addresses of all the practitioners.à All information of the licensees such as criminal records, insurance judgments and settlements, public complaints, disciplinary actions, etc, is noted.à The information of all the files are maintained confidential by the Board, but relevant information may be required for public records.à The Board shall protect the licensee from misuse of any of the personal information (which could result in threats to reputation, rights, benefits, etc).à From time to time, the Board may ask the licensee to submit additional information. The Laws of the Medical Board of California are one of the stringiest in the Country.à In the year 2003-04, the Board received about 5000 applications, out of which about 4000 were passed.à It can take anywhere between six to eight months for the applicant to obtain a license.à The Medical Board has to get some information of the potential licensee from the medical schools.à The long time period in giving licenses is mainly due to the huge number of applicants.à The applicants are examined in order of submission.à Once the duly filled in application form along with the documents and the fees are submitted, each of the applications are reviewed.à T he applicant should also submit fingerprint cards.à Once the initial review process is finished (usually it takes within 60 days), the applicant is informed, and has to submit a list of documents notified by the Board.à Usually for US and Canadian Graduates, the review process is quicker than candidates from other countries.à The FBI Fingerprint clearance is also required which may take some time.à In case of international applicants, it may take a longer time, as the applicant may not have the education and training requirements required by the California laws to practice in the state.à It may take a longer time to obtain documents from foreign schools and translated versions of certificates.à Once the documents are submitted and are in order, it may take about 3 months for them to be processed.à The senior authorities of the California Medical Board will review the applicantââ¬â¢s details and credentials.à In some cases unprecedented delays may occur dur ing processing, and hence, no applicant is given an exact date when their application would be ready.Patients are encouraged to file a complaint with the Board, when they have been harmed by the physician, and to prevent harm to other people.à The procedure is usually similar for civil malpractice and criminal liability.à The Medical Board of California is ready to help people to file a complaint against the physician for medical malpractice and also ensures their confidentiality.à However, the physician may know about the complainant identity as he/she may have to provide the case records and the details of the case during the investigation period.à Some of the reasons for filing disciplinary actions against the physicians include:-Situations in which the physician seriously departs from the established standards of practice whilst providing medical care (gross negligence).à Some of these include avoidance of diagnostic tests, not using accepted method of diagnosing and relating the patients or not identifying and treating the symptoms of the patients, and not seeking reference with a specialist.Repeatedly performing certain acts that may not be considered serious departure forms the accepted standards of practice, but can be referred to as ââ¬Ësimple negligence.Incompetence on the part of the physician can be considered when the physician lacks knowledge, experience and skill in performing a particular medical procedure, or uses an obsolete procedure.Sexual violationsSubstance abuseCriminal activityUnlawful use of drugs in the prescriptionFiling of false insurance claimsPermitting an unlicensed person to deliver patient careFor several medical malpractices and misconducts, the physician could be held for criminal liability.à Any serious injury, physical or mental retardation, death, etc arising during the medical treatment in the care of the physician could be considered under criminal liability.à However, the standard of proof requir ed for proving criminal negligence is very high compared to civil liability.à The physician is usually liable when the standard of care provided is deficient to the standard or reasonable level.à In the US about 44, 000 deaths occur annually as a result of medical negligence.à Some of the other cases of criminal liability occur when the physician is not able to diagnose a potential disorder or gives a faulty diagnosis, delays giving a test interpretation or gives a test interpretation that is faulty, discrepancies during administration of drugs, fails to provide certain information to the patients before or during the performance of any medical procedure, uses substandard equipment or drugs, sexually abuses the patient, etc.The Medical Board of California respects a complaint from the people when it suspects that the laws have been dishonored.à The Attorney General charges the violators and also punishes the violators on behalf of the public.à The Board is represented at the hearings against the physicians by the Deputy Attorney General.à The Board has a Division for maintaining Medical Quality.à This Board review, accepts, rejects or alters the decisions set by the judges at the public hearing, or sets new decisions that are an alternative to the decision set by the judges at the public hearing, or takes disciplinary actions as an agreement as an alternative procedure to public hearings.à The Board can suspend or cancel the license issued to a physician incase the charges are proved against the physician.à They can also place the physician on probation for a certain period, impose fines or penalties or limit the practice.à The appropriate law enforcement agency is informed when criminal charges have been proved against the physician to enforce criminal punishment (such as fines and imprisonment).à Sometimes, the Board can conduct an examination to determine the competency level of the physician.à Physicians who abuse alcoho l or drugs whilst delivering patient care may have to undergo a rehabilitation program under the supervision of the Board.à The Board also provides information to the patients about the current licensure details of the physician, the disciplinary action taken against a physician, disciplinary charges pending, and history of medical malpractice and criminal record.à Some of the information of the physician which is known to the public includes:-1.à à à à à Disciplinary actions taken by the Board against the physician in the past2.à à à à à Disciplinary actions taken by the Board of another state or agency against the physician in the past3.à à à à à Felony convictions against the physician by the Board after the year 1991.4.à à à à à Misdemeanor convictions against the physician by the Board after the year 2006.5.à à à à à Minor violations of law by the physician6.à à à à à Whether a hospital has taken certain di sciplinary actions against the physician that has resulted in termination of the services provided by the physician7.à à à à à Malpractice judgments and arbitrations where the awards were above US $ 30, 000.Once the Board receives a complaint from the public, a thorough investigation is held in order to gather evidence against the erring physician.à Usually complaints against the physician should be filed with seven years of the occurrence of the event.à However, there are several exceptions to this limitation period such as cases involving sexual abuse, criminal liability and abuse of a minor.à Once the complaint is received at the office, it is thoroughly reviewed by the supervisor and handled out to an investigator.à Serious complaints (such as death of the patient, physical injury, criminal misconduct, etc) are given priority and are handled promptly.à The Board will intimate the appropriate law enforcement agency in case the patient has to be protected .à The Board will notify the person about the status of the complaint during all stages.à The Board will thoroughly investigate the case.à The physician, witnesses, complainant, etc, may be interviewed for their versions of the incident.à An expert committee may be set up to provide expert advice of the case. The medical records of the patient and the details of the physician submitted during the application process are also reviewed and may be taken as evidence.à The Board drafts investigations documents and serves them to the required body.à It also performs undercover search operations and provides search warrants.à After the physician is interviewed, the expert committee assesses the situations and suggests the standard of proof existing.à Once evidence is obtained by the Medical Board that a medical malpractice has occurred, it is immediately submitted before the Office of the Attorney General and the Health Quality Enforcement Section.à The AGââ¬â¢ s Office will study the case if sufficient evidence exist, and if it does, charges are framed.à If strong and clear evidence exists against the physician, civil litigation charges are filed.à If a criminal element is involved, the standard of proof needs to be higher.à Such cases are further handed over to the Court for review before the Administrative Law Judge for public hearing.à If sufficient evidence is not obtained, the case may have to be closed.à If the violation that has occurred is insufficient to file a review before the administrative law judge, the case may also have to be closed. If the physician has committed a grossly negligent act that has caused the death of the patient, he/she could be held criminally liable.à The information is first presented to the Coroner.à An initial report is filed with the Medical Board and includes all information such as name of the physician, date of death, place of death, etc. à Within 90 days the Coronerââ¬â¢s report should be followed with the autopsy report.à The cause of death is usually established through expert evidences.à Expert testimonials are also utilized in civil cases.à Most cases of criminal negligence may be punished with criminal imprisonment and fines.à The fines usually cannot be paid from Insurance companies.à The physician may have to pay for the fine through his/her own means.à In criminal cases in California, peer review material was not protected from discovery.à This may be different from other state criminal laws, as in criminal proceedings, peer review material are secluded from discovery.à Section 805.2 of the Business and Professional Code provides for the peer review process of during malpractice cases.à The Peer review group will conduct a fair, objective and free study, separate from the Board, or the Physician.

Why Violence Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Why Violence - Essay Example any given social set up solving problems through fighting is not viewed as a philanthropic way of solving problems, it is quite true that in some instances violence is the solution. I agree with the author that violence is of great political importance to the society especially an effective method to solving problems of political dominance. For any kind of violence to be an effective solution to a given political problem, the people fighting should be more superior to their adversaries. It is a fact that the effect or threat of violence can compel acquiescence among people with different political views. Occasionally, peacefully expression of views or negotiations has always failed in finding a solution to political problems such as abuse of power, election problems, and power wrangles among others. The author does a great work by giving examples of countries and regimes where violence has been used as means to solving political problems. For instance, threats of violence led to the ousting of president Mubarak of Egypt by the protesters and Quddafi regime was only defeated through war (Ginsberg, 4). It is a fact that violence is also an important aspect of political and social change in any given society setup as expressed by Ginsberg in the article. Over the past years since the end of world wars, different nations have been driven to invent and make advanced weapons that can be used to subdue their adversaries and bring power balance. This in turn has led to changes in both the social and political arena among nations involved. For instance, Iraq has been seeking to make nuclear weapons to gain control over the Middle East, which has also led to the emergence of terror groups that function through blackmail of the entire process. In addition to such political changes, I agree with the author that violence played a significant role in addressing the problems and challenged faced by the African Americans in the United States. Although social injustices such as

Nike launched its product line in 1979. The new version of its Air shoe which was very successful and it was known as Air Jordan; introduced in 1985. Nike opened its first retail outlet in Portland, Oregon in 1990. In 1991 the company was very successful and its revenue reached USD $3 billion. Company began selling its products directly to customers from its website. Nike is the worlds leading sports and athletic shoes. Nike is the major manufacturer of sports equipment with $18.6 billion USD in the year of 2008. Nike has 30000 employees in worldwide. (Nikebiz:company overview, 2010) Nike Mission Statement To bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete* in the world * If you have a body, you are an athlete. (nike, 2010) Introduction Nike had generated profits of $97.4 million and its profit dropped down by 50% in February 2001. Nike said that it was because of the failure of supply chain software produced by i2 technologies. Both companies blamed each other. This failure also effected Nikes reputation. The supply chain software was the first segment of NSC (Nike Supply Chain) project from SAP and also customer relationship management software from Siebel System. Analysts pointed out the fault of customization of the software and over demand forecasting. (Koah, 2004) Company successfully implemented (NSC) Nike Supply Chain project by 2004. The (NSC) Nike Supply Chain project is centralized planning moving and manufacturing. At last Nike got success in Implementing ERP and it became the desired approach for those who want to implement the ERP systems in their company. Christopher Koch (Editor of CIO Magazine) stated that If it was easy, everyone would just do it. In the late 1990, most companies avoided to adopt ERP because of the huge cost of ERP systems. (Koch, 2004) The lesson of Nikes failure and subsequent rebound lies in the fact that it had a sound business plan that was widely understood and accepted at every level of the company. Given that resiliency it afforded the company, in the end the i2 failure turned out to be just a speed bump. (Koah, 2004) Products Range Nike has wide range of sports equipment, running shoes, and jerseys and may other products as shown in figure 1. ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) ERP entitles a companys information system which can bring more closely the companys departments and functions like human resources, finance and inventories. It also creates the link between customers and producers. Introduction of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Enterprise Resource Planning is the enterprise system tool which manages demand and supply. It has the ability to make link between customers and suppliers. ERP also provides the high degree of integration between purchasing, manufacturing, marketing, sales, logistics and marketing. ERP is the tool which can provide high level of customer services and productivity and also lower the cost. (Wallace Kremzar, 2001) Enterprise Resource Planning is a company which increase it sales by 20% because of ERP. The vice president states that ERP has provided the key to becoming a truly global company. Design can be made with the accurate data and with the process that concretes demand and supply across border and oceans. This change is worth billion to us in sales worldwide. (Wallace Kremzar, 2001) The Director of ERP For the first time ever, we have a good handle on our future requirements for components raw and materials. When our customer demand changes, weà ¢Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¡Ã ¬ourselves and our suppliersà ¢Ã ¢Ã¢â¬Å¡Ã ¬can manage changes to our schedules on a very coordinated and controlled basis. I dont see how any company can do effective supply chain management without ERP. (Wallace Kremzar, 2001) Origin of the Term ERP The Enterprise Resource Planning ERP developed from Manufacture Resource Planning (MRP). The ERP was introduced by an analytical firm Garner. Enterprise Resource Planning has all the functions of an enterprise except organisation business or charter. Many organisations like IBM, Dell and HP Microsoft, Intel and many other organisations are now using ERP systems. The ERP systems are typically for large and more broadly based applications although it is also used in small and medium sized businesses. The ERP systems provide standardization, lower maintenance and it can store all data in one database. So, we can say that it has greater reporting capabilities. ERP includes other applications like Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), Financials Resource Management (FRM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Human Resources Management (HRM). (Leon , 2008) Overview of ERP Many organisations choose to implement one part for ERP systems and stand-alone systems for the other ERP applications need to develop an external interface to the other ERP system. Because in an organisation one vendor choose to use human resource management system and the financial system choose another and integration between those systems. It is very common in midsized retailer and the retail sector will have a point of sale (POS) and financial application then they have a specialized application to handle other business requirements like logistics and merchandising. (Leon , 2008) The quality of ERP system is that it provides a single database which contains all the data for the software module also shown in figure 3: Manufacturing Supply Chain Management Financials Projects Human Resources Customer Relationship Management (Leon , 2008) Reasons for Buying ERP Software In these days when the business environment is increasingly complex and highly competitive then the organisations need the IT system which is highly competitive with time management. The organisations need the outstanding performance in their business by utilizing the time in the correct way. Enterprise system utilize the company time correctly. Enterprise Resource Planning is the planning in which the business resources like material, employees and customers moved from one state to another state. An ERP system maintains the data which connects with the business functions like manufacturing, supply chain, Management, finance, human resource, customer relationship management. (Leon , 2008) Reasons of ERP projects Failure Sometimes ERP projects fail if you do not implement them well. There are some of the reasons for the failure of ERP failure. The company selected the wrong software of ERP for the company. The training of employee is also very important and some organisations dont train well their employees. Some software is heavily customized and if these are not match with the companys IT infrastructure then there can be problem. If we do not implement the effective change management strategies then it can be the result of failure of the project. If the business merger leaves out the work in the process then it can be also a big loss.(Glenn, 2008) There are also some factors from where we can achieve the successful ERP projects by selecting the right software for the company. Give the right training to employees. For implementing the ERP we have to manage each approach and utilize the best practices for implementing ERP software. (Starinsky, 2001) I found some important realities about ERP are that there is no perfect ERP system exists. We cannot say that any ERP implementation is ever perfect. If two companies have the same ERP software but the implementation cannot be the same because every company has its own style of implementation. (Leon , 2008) SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT Supply Chain Management is a network that is involved buying, making, moving, selling and distribution. (Hugos, 2006)

The Life Of Anne Frank :: essays research papers
The Life of Anne Frank On the Deportations "Our many Jewish friends and acquaintances are being taken away in droves. The Gestapo is treatiang them very roughly and transporting them in cattle cars to Westerbork, the big camp in Drenthe to which they're sending all the Jews....If it's that bad in Holland, what must it be like in those faraway and uncivilized places where the Germans are sending them? We assume that most of them are being murdered. The English radio says they're being gassed."-- October 9, 1942 On Her Old Country, Germany "Fine specimens of humanity, those Germanns, and to think I'm actually one of them! No, that's not true, Hitler took away our nationality long ago. And besides, there are no greater enemies on earth than the Germans and Jews."-- October 9, 1942 On Nazi Punishment of Resisters "Have you ever heard the term 'hostages'? That's the latest punishment for saboteurs. It's the most horrible thing you can imagine. Leading citizens-- innocent peopleââ¬âare taken prisoner to await their execution. If the Gestapo can't find the saboteur, they simply grab five hostages and line them up against the wall. You read the announcements of their death in the paper, where they're referred to as 'fatal accidents.'"--October 9, 1942 "All college students are being asked to sign an official statement to the effect that they 'sympathize with the Germans and approve of the New Order." Eighty percent have decided to obay the dictates of their conscience, but the penalty will be severe. Any student refusing to sign will be sent to a German labor camp."--May 18, 1943 Here is were the story begins ... On June 12, 1942, Anne Frank's parents gave her a small red-and-white plaid diary for her thirteenth birthday. Anne recorded her innermost feelings in her diary, which she named "Kitty." Less than a month after receiving her diary, on July 6, 1942, Anne and her family were forced to go into hiding. Though they could bring very few things with them to the hiding place, Anne brought her diary. During the months Anne lived in hiding, her diary became her best friend and confidant. In hiding, Anne continued to write in her diary nearly every day. She wrote about her life with the seven other people in hiding--her parents, her sister, the van Pels family (called the van Daan family by Anne), and Fritz Pfeffer (called Alfred Dussel by Anne), as well as the war going on around her, and her hopes for the future. When she filled up her original diary, Miep Gies and Bep Voskuijl, two of the family's helpers, brought her ledgers and loose sheets of paper to continue
